Hydroxypropyl starch ether (HPS) is a white fine powder made from natural plant starch through modification, hydroxypropyl etherification and spray drying. In its molecular structure, the hydroxyl group is replaced by hydroxypropyl, featuring good water solubility, high solution transparency, strong acid-base stability and controllable viscosity. Its ice-thaw stability and gelatinization performance are superior to those of the original starch. The pH range of the product is 6-8 (aqueous solution), and the viscosity span is 400-200,000 mpa ·s. It is suitable for dissolving in cold water.
